Springtime and summer are the best months for kids to play because they can go outside, but when the rainy season comes it can cause some kids to get restless and gloomy. Good weather can't last all year round and kids don't understand sometimes why they have to stay indoors during the bad weather seasons.
However, you can turn frowns upside down by making rainy days fun and filled with activities for kids. Going to the public library or gathering different kinds of creative art materials for some creative activities can make rainy days adventurous for kids.
If you have the materials for it, scrapbooking is a great idea and is time consuming for kids to do and they will not even think about going outdoors to play when it is raining because they are having a good time.
A great idea too is to have movie time with watching reruns of old shows that your kids like. Kids love to watch their favorite shows over again and you can make some popcorn and snacks for them while they are watching and they can enjoy this family bonding time and even look forward to it when the weather is gloomy outside.
Kids love to help cook and you can turn their time off from school and bad weather days into a dress up event like a tea party for the smaller kids and have snacks and other delights for them to enjoy.
Board games are always a good standby to spend time together and enjoy this activity. Games like scrabble, dominoes and card games are favorites among the kids to play with the adults in their lives.
When you have no ideas kids are great idea makers, you can have them come up with the next activity by letting them have an idea box where they can write down their ideas for the next rainy day activities to do.
Kids moods can change during the rainy season and it does not have to be filled with them being down because they cannot go outside. Having fun-filled activities to do indoors will put them in a better mood and may make them look forward to rainy days and fun indoors.
