Keep Your Kids Busy With Great Activities This Summer

We all like summer as it is the best time of the year. We experience beautiful weather; great chances to spend time outdoors along with lot of fun activities such a moving to beaches or having a picnic are all kind of the season. Something else that normally goes with summer holidays and that is the well known dialogue of kids "Mom I'm bored". Generally kids become habituated to having a planned daily life while they are in school and frequently don't understand what to do when that arrangement is actually missing.

You need not worry now; there are some amazing ways to keep your kids involved all though the vacation. One best idea you can think of is day summer camps or check out few other schemes in your home side. Many home park areas also offer lots of different programs in summer time, which children enjoy and are usually affordable.

You could further go for a sleep-away summer camp for your kids. It would give your kids something to keep them busy and look forward all through their summer vacation, and even supposing most summer camps only run for a week's time or two, your kids would no doubt learn fresh skills. These original found aptitudes would offer activity and goings-on for weeks after they come back home from summer camp.

One more additional option is buying period passes to a home/local theme park, water park, swimming pool, or fun center. It sounds classy, but then you may be astonished to learn that seasonal passes for many such places usually cost just a little higher than any one-day ticket. If the amusement or theme park and other area is not far from your house, it might well help you to select the term passes, and go back repeatedly all through summer vacation.

These are actually some of the grand methods to ensure your children are having fun summer holidays. On the other hand you could also teach your kids some craft supply channels sponsor children's course in addition to activities for the whole family. These are generally planned on Saturdays, so you and your children could go for different projects and different activities. Even library is a very good supply. Take your children every week or two to library so they could select fresh books or be present at story time or other library conducted activities. Your kids would not only take pleasure in it, but it would as well help them keep their interpretation and reading skills refined over summer vacation.

Fun games for kids - Camping, Ping-pong and badminton

When you are looking to have some family fun there are many different options and those options include kids fun games. With some many different options available there are ways that you can have affordable fun with your family that does not have to break the bank.

Most people have an idea that for anything to be fun it has to cost a fortune but there are many things that you can do that barely cost anything at all. There are even affordable family vacations that you can take to have a great time that are right in your backyard.

When it comes to kids fun games there are a number of different games to choose from whether you want to be indoors or outdoors. If your family enjoys being outdoors then a game of horseshoes or badminton might be a good choice for you.

It is inexpensive to purchase the equipment for badminton and it is something that you will be able to enjoy for many years to come. Plus, the best part is that it will be right in your backyard so you will not even need to spend money on gas to travel somewhere to have fun.

If you want to feel like you are getting away on a vacation but do not want to spend the money that it costs to take a vacation then a family camping trip might be a great option for you. There are many county and state parks right in your area that offer camping.

If you do not own any camping equipment such as a tent many of these places have tents or cabins on Site so that you do not have to worry about purchasing these devices. There are usually a barbecue area right at the campsite, so that you will be able to cook all the food there.

Another game that is actually good for all table tennis. For less than $ 100 you can buy a decent table and accessories to get started. One of the best parts is, Mom, Dad and the kids can compete and share the fun.

No matter what kind of family fun watch, to getwhether it be a game at home or a cheap cruise to the Caribbean there are options for everyone. It is important to keep in mind that family fun does not have to cost a lot of money or even any money at all.

Kids Camping Kit - Top 5 Items For Your Kids To Pack For Their Camping Trip

In my view and many other peoples view camping is all about the kids. The classroom acts as a classroom, playground and a home. Children can become anxious though especially if they have never been camping before as it is such new experience. Take some time first of all with your young ones to explain some of the things they can expect once you are their. By giving them their own kids camping kit with a few well chosen favourites from your home, you will be halfway their. If you have never taken your children camping before it is worth giving it a test run at a campsite local to you, the temptation if you have the space is to do it in your back garden but the overwhelming temptation for your children to go to their bedroom twenty yards away means that it may not be worthwhile by trying this method.

The top five items for your kids to take would include (but is not limited to):

Toys. I don't mean their whole toy collection here, but some books and games which will make your kids feel at home, especially at bedtime. I would deem it a good decision to make sure that your children do not bring their latest toys, as unfortunately things can get lost or broken in the great outdoors, so just make sure it is not their favourite action figures.
Torch. A torch for night times is crucial. Your children will be out in the open most days so this will make them sleep deeply. To get them to drift off easier a bedside light is great. Often most kids' torches double up as a little lamp; this is the best buy in my view.
Disposable camera. This is excellent as it makes your little one feel all grown up by taking their own pictures of their camping adventure, even if they do come out a little wonky or blurry. It is also good as they can then use the pictures for show and tell at school.
Treasure box. By having a little treasure box this can be used for the kids to collect interesting findings on their camping trip. It could be stones they find or pine cones, anything they find of interest which is their own keepsakes of the holiday.
Rucksack. This is another great way to show your child to have their own independence. For trips out on your holiday they can take their own rucksack with their lunch, toys, pencils and crayons etc. it is exciting for children to be able to have their very own bag to keep their important items in.

Camping Hints For People With Kids

Today more than ever camping grounds have seen a big influx in the number of people that are looking towards more affordable holidays, especially young families that are watching their pennies now a days. When we were younger we could just carry our tents in a back pack and we would then go hiking until we want to pull up and camp for the night this was so easy all you did was clear the ground and put a ground sheet down and you then popped your tent up.

Today though the modern camper takes everything from home that is not nailed down, camping stores have even an ensuite complete with shower and a chemical toilet how spoilt is that! I have watched campers over the years and saw them try to cope with small children that weren't walking and trying to keep them quiet when they woke up at early in the am. When I had children I made a pact with my husband that we wouldn't take the kids camping until they were walking. Some people might disagree but this is what worked best for me.

When you are getting outfitted for your camping holiday always buy a tent size up to what you think that you will need. If you do this it will allow more space to keep your luggage, toys and other essentials that you will need.

If you go to a caravan park or trailer park some of the facilities they have will certainly impress you. From the activities that they have on site, to babysitting, games rooms, kid's playground equipment, plaster painting. Even some of the bigger parks put on a show at night for the guests.

Hints and tips when camping

• When you are at your camping spot plan to arrive about lunch time as this will give you time to have the kids run around and burn off some of that energy that they have.

• Take a thermos and fill up with something that you will be able to feed everyone in a hurry. Yes I know your camping but it all takes time setting tent up getting the dinner prepared. I like to have soup, hot dogs or casserole. Any meal will do as long as it can be served up in a hurry, little children will be tired and hungry at the end of the first night.

• As a Mom I like to also do a few meals that I can freeze this just sometimes makes it a little easier on myself as it gives me the night off cooking

• A flash light is the best thing for spotting the night life so make sure you pack one and keep it handy I found also to make sure everyone has a job to do to help put up the tent, the girls had to hold the tent pegs and hand them to Daddy, I needed to lay the poles out so they were all matched up and Hubby had to do the other bits and pieces. This way everyone made a contribution to the holiday and the same happened for the packing up.

Ideas for an outdoor treasure hunt

A nature scavenger hunt is a great addition to your outdoor activities for kids. Let's face it, who doesn't like to go on a scavenger hunt? They are experiential in nature and get the kids out, moving around and exploring their surroundings.

There are several things to keep in mind when starting to prepare your outdoor scavenger hunt.

First: Pick a location that is appropriate for your group. Make sure that it is in a safe space. Make the boundaries larger for older kids and smaller for the younger ones.

Second: Decide if they will go looking for a list of objects that are already in the location such as a leaf or a pine cone or if you will be hiding objects in the playing area. You can also decide to do a combination of the two.

Third: Make your list. Examples of items found outside include: a leaf, a pebble, three types of grass, a feather, smooth bark, rough bark, a ladybug, etc. Examples of things that you can hide in the area include: a crayon, a comb, a lifesaver, a plastic cup, a book, a tube of toothpaste, salt shaker, a votive candle, etc.

Fourth: Gather together your lists and anything you might be hiding and get the site prepared. Contact any park authorities if you need permission to have the hunt on another organization's property.

Fifth: Send the kids exploring on their outdoor scavenger hunt. Be sure to have enough adults present to supervise, especially if they are younger kids.

Sixth: Have prizes handy for the kids. Be sure to bring along water and a shade tent if the area is really sunny so that the kids are hydrated and not too hot.

Seventh: Always end your outdoor activities for kids with them wanting more. It's proof that they are having fun and still engaged in the activity.

And of course, have fun with it! Use these outdoor scavenger hunt lists to supplement this guide as you create your own fun activity for kids.

Fun summer activities for children

Kids bored?

Want them outside and active?  If they are tired of riding their bikes or skateboards, or if they are spending too much time in front of the TV, a few new suggestions might spark their imaginations. Here are some great activities your kids can do for fun in the summer.  You may remember doing some of these when you were a kid.

Anywhere:

Get a group together to do any of the following: Obstacle courses -make up your own using old tires, hoops, climbing ropes, etc.
Hold some races. Try running or fast walking, 3 legged races, potato sack races, races holding an egg on a spoon, running with a balloon between your knees, etc.
Get a strong rope and a group together to play tug of war. Make teams as even as possible to be really challenging!
Practice cartwheels. If they get good, they can practice one handed cartwheels. (Try to get legs straight up and feet pointed).
Go on a picnic. Pack up a basket & blanket and head out to a favourite spot.
Blow up some balloons & play some games: keep the balloon from touching the ground, juggle several at once, play volleyball. You can also decorate the balloons with markers and make funny faces.
Get  a yo-yo so they can try learning some tricks.
Put on a play, magic show or comedy skit.

Great outdoors:

Take a hike in the woods or go to the park with friends or family.   Make it an adventure (pretend you are on Survivor or Lost) or a make up a treasure hunt.
Climb a tree. Build a tree fort or clubhouse. It doesn't have to be out of wood & nails. You can just use some old blankets & cardboard to make one for the day.
Go camping. If you can get away, you can pitch a tent in the backyard (or living room/basement).
Go bird watching, bug catching or  pick wildflowers. Gather pretty rocks & stones. Paint patterns on the big rocks - or paint them to look like pets.
Gather up colorful stones, leaves or pinecones to make crafts with.
Fly a kite! You can even try making your own.
Play games like badminton, croquet, horseshoes or shuffleboard.
Older kids can go power walking. Let them bring along an ipod with their favourite songs.

Water fun:

Go to a splash pad.
Get a slip & slide or other sprinklers you can hook up to a water hose.
Go to the beach or lakeshore. Swim, bring a boogie board, skip stones, or walk along the shore. Make sand castles or sand sculptures.
Go swimming. Organize a pool party, play pool games, dive for diving sticks, make up games with pool noodles, beach balls, etc. Have a jumping contest off the diving board. Appoint someone or a parent the judge. Categories can include: funniest, highest, best dive, best star jump, most impressive, best 360 (turn), biggest cannonball, etc.
Have a water balloon or water gun fight.
Get soap & various wands to have a bubble blowing contest. Try: most bubbles in a minute, biggest bubble, funniest shape bubble, most bubbles stuck together, etc.

Remember:

A day spent watching tv or playing on the computer is a missed opportunity.  Memories are made from time spent with friends and doing fun activities. Send your kids outside to take advantage of the great weather and give them ideas that will spark their imaginations.  For more free and fun ideas of activities for kids, go on http://www.fitforafeast.com to watch videos on ways to play tag, capture the flag, kick the can, etc.
