Kids Camping Kit - Top 5 Items For Your Kids To Pack For Their Camping Trip

In my view and many other peoples view camping is all about the kids. The classroom acts as a classroom, playground and a home. Children can become anxious though especially if they have never been camping before as it is such new experience. Take some time first of all with your young ones to explain some of the things they can expect once you are their. By giving them their own kids camping kit with a few well chosen favourites from your home, you will be halfway their. If you have never taken your children camping before it is worth giving it a test run at a campsite local to you, the temptation if you have the space is to do it in your back garden but the overwhelming temptation for your children to go to their bedroom twenty yards away means that it may not be worthwhile by trying this method.

The top five items for your kids to take would include (but is not limited to):

Toys. I don't mean their whole toy collection here, but some books and games which will make your kids feel at home, especially at bedtime. I would deem it a good decision to make sure that your children do not bring their latest toys, as unfortunately things can get lost or broken in the great outdoors, so just make sure it is not their favourite action figures.
Torch. A torch for night times is crucial. Your children will be out in the open most days so this will make them sleep deeply. To get them to drift off easier a bedside light is great. Often most kids' torches double up as a little lamp; this is the best buy in my view.
Disposable camera. This is excellent as it makes your little one feel all grown up by taking their own pictures of their camping adventure, even if they do come out a little wonky or blurry. It is also good as they can then use the pictures for show and tell at school.
Treasure box. By having a little treasure box this can be used for the kids to collect interesting findings on their camping trip. It could be stones they find or pine cones, anything they find of interest which is their own keepsakes of the holiday.
Rucksack. This is another great way to show your child to have their own independence. For trips out on your holiday they can take their own rucksack with their lunch, toys, pencils and crayons etc. it is exciting for children to be able to have their very own bag to keep their important items in.

Camping Hints For People With Kids

Today more than ever camping grounds have seen a big influx in the number of people that are looking towards more affordable holidays, especially young families that are watching their pennies now a days. When we were younger we could just carry our tents in a back pack and we would then go hiking until we want to pull up and camp for the night this was so easy all you did was clear the ground and put a ground sheet down and you then popped your tent up.

Today though the modern camper takes everything from home that is not nailed down, camping stores have even an ensuite complete with shower and a chemical toilet how spoilt is that! I have watched campers over the years and saw them try to cope with small children that weren't walking and trying to keep them quiet when they woke up at early in the am. When I had children I made a pact with my husband that we wouldn't take the kids camping until they were walking. Some people might disagree but this is what worked best for me.

When you are getting outfitted for your camping holiday always buy a tent size up to what you think that you will need. If you do this it will allow more space to keep your luggage, toys and other essentials that you will need.

If you go to a caravan park or trailer park some of the facilities they have will certainly impress you. From the activities that they have on site, to babysitting, games rooms, kid's playground equipment, plaster painting. Even some of the bigger parks put on a show at night for the guests.

Hints and tips when camping

• When you are at your camping spot plan to arrive about lunch time as this will give you time to have the kids run around and burn off some of that energy that they have.

• Take a thermos and fill up with something that you will be able to feed everyone in a hurry. Yes I know your camping but it all takes time setting tent up getting the dinner prepared. I like to have soup, hot dogs or casserole. Any meal will do as long as it can be served up in a hurry, little children will be tired and hungry at the end of the first night.

• As a Mom I like to also do a few meals that I can freeze this just sometimes makes it a little easier on myself as it gives me the night off cooking

• A flash light is the best thing for spotting the night life so make sure you pack one and keep it handy I found also to make sure everyone has a job to do to help put up the tent, the girls had to hold the tent pegs and hand them to Daddy, I needed to lay the poles out so they were all matched up and Hubby had to do the other bits and pieces. This way everyone made a contribution to the holiday and the same happened for the packing up.

Take Your 4G Phone Camping With the Kids

Camping is one of the most all-American activities that there is. Most adults can look back on their childhoods or adolescences and recall a weekend spent with their parents in the woods of northern Wisconsin, hiking trails and fishing in the river by day and shivering under the brilliant northern stars in a sleeping bag by night. Or maybe they spent a weekend with some buddies from college roughing it in Yellowstone National Park, out in the isolated but stunningly beautiful northern Wyoming, walking quietly on the trails in hopes that they would stumble upon a moose or some other hard-to-spot animal quietly grazing in the distance. Or maybe it was a week long trek on a segment of the Appalachian trail that goes through Georgia, surmounting a physical challenge shortly after getting married.

Whatever the situation might have been, your experiences while camping provided countless incredible memories, and you hope that you can impart the ability to have such wonderful and yet simple times onto your children. Not only that, but camping is one of the most economical ways to have a vacation: you do not have to pay for hotel rooms and fancy meals and entrance fees to museums and city tours on double-decker tourist buses. All you have to fork out some cash for is, perhaps, the entrance fee to a National Park, some basic camping equipment that you can use over and over again in years to come, and supplies to make some staple foods such as fruits, canned vegetables, bread, chocolate for energy and healing, and a kind of preserved meat.

Really, the only real danger or disadvantage of the field is the fear that is lost or injured, and in the middle of the forest where you can find anyone. There are a number of ways to help alleviate this fear very standard, and reduce the risk of creating such a situation. First, before you head out ofnearby national park, make sure to inform other family, neighbors, or friends - basically anyone who will notice if you do not return in time. You can even bring your 4G phone with you and call them at certain specified check-in times so that way they can keep track of you throughout the trip.

Before you go on your trip, you can print out maps of your destination via your wireless Internet connection. What's more, with wireless Internet, you can likely access all kinds of information about the camping area that you are going to beyond the promotional material that is provided by the park. You can find user-based review sites and see what other campers have to say about various locations.

And finally, another great use of your 4G phone is to bring it along on trip so that you can access the Internet or emergency services in the case of something unexpected occurring. You can look up directions again, or simply call the authorities when you need an extra hand.

Flashlights For Camping and Other Activities

Camping flashlights are a necessity when outside after dark. Used in aviation, government, industry and sporting environments. Camping flashlights are the ideal companion on every camping trip and forms an important part of every camper's kit. Therefore, if you are an avid hunter or camper you know how important it is to carry a camping flashlight with you. Camping flashlights need to be dependable. Camping flashlights are essential for safety especially once it starts getting dark. Often campsites are strewn with both large and small obstacles; all of which may cause you to fall or trip resulting in injury.

Flashlights are so ever-present and practical that it's hard to envision what life must've been like before Conrad Hubert, a Russian inventor, introduced the first "electric hand torch" in 1898. The tubular electric torch was based on a patent he obtained from David Misell, the British inventor of numerous electrical devices. The flashlight got its name, "flash light", from the fact that it originally could only be operated for a very short time. Obviously, the name stuck and since then, flashlight technology has evolved in many wondrous ways.

Today flashlights are the portable light sources of choice. They typically use battery, electrical, or mechanical power to light up an area or item for examination. They are made of aluminum, plastic or other lightweight materials and used in emergency, Military applications and maintenance. Flashlights are usually designed to be mobile and therefore responsible for the consumption of energy rather than a steady power supply. The battery case in most of the flash, it is also the handle.

modern lamps are so many different styles, features, battery and lamp types that it is a chore to determine which is the torch to better your needs are offered. Need battery? A flashlight is one of those tools that are practical foreveryday use and can also be a life saver in emergency situations. It's unusual to be able to make an investment in a piece of survival gear that is also beneficial in everyday life. It is not surprising that a most people consider a flashlight to be a necessity.

With so many different flashlight bulbs available, it can become somewhat confusing. There are three basic types of bulbs: LED, Incandescent and Fluorescent. There are differences within each category, but here are the basic guidelines for each.

LED bulbs are the most efficient and will last for 10,000 or more hours of use. The standard white bulbs produce a clear bright light. Because of their long life, they are the most economical over the long term.

Incandescent bulbs are the most common. They have a relatively short life, come in several categories of brightness and are not as rugged as the LED. They are not expensive, but you will need to be replaced frequently.

Fluorescent bulbs produce a light, the light that it is better to light a small area. They have not worked as well as lights to illuminate distant objects.

Your satisfaction with your choice of torch is as strong as you care according to the nature and intensity of light, with its intended task required. Be specific with the criteria and the chances are good that you are satisfied with the result.

There are many fun activities you can plan more fun to make your holiday. The best time to go camping holiday would be either in summer or early autumn, but relaxed when you are looking for a real, camping can not be the best optionyou. Camping can give you a break from everyday tedious tasks but it can also be physically exhausting. Some activities that you can do while camping are hiking or hunting and you will need to get the right equipment before going off such as fixed blade knives and hunting knives.

If you have children going camping with you, it is probably not a great idea to go hunting. A better activity to take part in when you have kids around would be spending the day out on the lake or going fishing. Kids love fishing and there are places to purchase smaller fishing rods. They will feel very grown up and love doing this. It will keep them busy for a long time as well.

Hiking is also one of those activities that could be tiring to young children. Depending on what type of hike you will be going on, kids can get tired very easily and no one will enjoy themselves. Instead of doing this, you could go on a scavenger hunt with the kids and try to get them to find different leaves and things in nature. If you bring along some snacks and drinks and make it fun, they will be more likely to enjoy themselves and not complain the entire time.

Just because you have kids with you on a camping trip does not mean that you have to lose out on all of your fun. There are plenty of activities you can do with them to make sure they are kept occupied. If you can, bring bikes or scooters that they can ride around on in the campground to keep them busy. There are even parks in some campgrounds that you can take your kids to. Encourage the kids to stay out of the tent and do something active. Kids spend so much time watching television at home that it is nice to get them to get outside.

If you want to do more fun and adult things such as hunting or just having a week away from the kids, you can try getting a babysitter or getting the grandparents to watch the kids for a week. Try either going out with another couple who also wants to get away from their kids or just go out with your husband or wife to bond for a week or so. It will give you time to relax or do the things that you like to do without worrying about your kids constantly.

Or would you like to introduce your kids to the fun of camping for the first time, but aren't sure if they will enjoy it, or might get scared? Either way, camping out in your backyard will be a fun way to spend the evening and night with your kids.

Get the kids involved in setting up camp in your backyard. Have them help you set up the tent. Put them in charge of getting their sleeping bags, flashlights and anything else they may need into the tent. If it's an option for you, you may even want to make a campfire in your backyard. Check with your fire department before hand if this is an option in your area. If not, just dig out the charcoal or gas grill.
